Despite ruling the box-office with hits like 3 Idiots, Taare Zameen Par, actor Aamir Khan still feels the pressure of delivering his best but insists that he did not let it affect him.
"There will always be pressure which is good as people expect more from me. But it is scary too. I try that this pressure does not come my way," Aamir told reporters here at the music launch of his upcoming film Talaash.
About donning khaki uniform in the film, something that other actors like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar did in films like Dabangg, Singham and Rowdy Rathore, he said, "I don't think I am competing with anyone of them. Though Salman, Ajay and Akshay have played the roles of a cop but my role is different. It is not an out-an-out entertaining film in that way but I liked it and agreed to be part of it."
"I did not have to prepare for my role in this film much. I did that when I played a cop in Sarfarosh. I feel no role is easy," he said.
Reema Kagti's Talaash, a suspense drama, stars Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee in the lead alongside Aamir who feels the two were apt for the roles they have played in the film and he cannot choose who is better. Kareena plays the role of a sex worker while Rani plays Aamir's wife.
The music of the film was released today at a suburban hotel though the event was earlier supposed to take place at the city's famous red light area -- Kamathipura. But the makers felt it would not be appropriate.
"That was one of the ideas but then we felt it would be insensitive to do so. We don't want to use anyone's misfortune to our benefit," Aamir said.
Talking about Aamir, director Reema Kagti said the actor provided creative inputs for the film.
"Aamir has given creative inputs. I appreciate that. He was quite respectful of my vision. He tried to bring his best. And with Kareena and Rani also in, it was a dream cast," Reema told reporters.
Aamir was also all praise for Reema. "I have worked with lady directors in the past including my wife, Deepa Nair and now Reema.. it is always great to work with them. It is irrelevant whether the director is male or female. She is perceptive of performances, I was guided a lot by her. I saw her demanding as well as open, I could trust her instincts," he said.
There were reports that earlier Shah Rukh Khan was to play the role of Aamir. When asked about the same, Reema said, "I would not like to talk about things that did not work out. This happens in films. I am happy with main and secondary cast of Talaash."
When asked about it, Aamir was clueless that Shah Rukh was approached for the role that he played in the film. "I was not aware who was offered the film."
The film releases on November 30.
